Children of Eden Costumes

Here are some pictures from our show dress rehearsal.
For costumes I wanted a minimalist approach especially for the first act.  Also, I like for the costumes to reflect the character because the audience only knows them for such a short period of time.
Father, Eve, Adam

Young Cain & Abel

Older Cain & Abel

Storytellers
Our Storytellers were all in white, but the outfits did not match.  This was done purposefully because our cast was not very diverse in skin tone.  I find that to be a help because it helps get across the point that we are all the same to God, we are all his children no matter our differences.  So To combat this problem I had them all in the same color but with different outfits.

Noah
Only 2 characters wear bright, reflective, blue in the show, Noah and Yonah, to show their relationship to water.  His is obvious, but Yonah is in blue because of her song in the show "Stranger to the Rain"

Noah and family

Japeth and Yonah

For the 2nd act I used the usual "nativity" costumes for the mains.  I just wanted to make sure that only Noah and Yonah had bright costumes, and the rest of the family was in muted tones.  Japeth does have some blue in his tunic (it's hard to see in the pictures) to pick up the blue in Yonah's dress and sash.  And keeping the sons all in stripes allowed the ladies solids to show even better.
